Magicians make rabbits disappear. The following letter reveals how to make rejection disappear – whether in business or in love.

This is the only place on the web where you can get business advice from the pros right alongside advice that will help you win the affections of that certain someone (you know who we’re talking about ).

Read it, absorb its secrets, and you’ll never feel that icky rejected feeling ever again.

Dear glistening JuniorBiz reader,

My name is Casanova Joe and I am the world’s most successful Casanova. As I write this, I lay on the white sand beaches of Punta Leona, Costa Rica, completely surrounded by beautiful people in swimwear.

It’s hard to believe, but even Casanova Joe has tasted the bitter pomegranate of romantic failure. Actually, I don’t remember a specific instance, but I am pretty sure that it has happened to me at least once.

The Hardest Part of Being an Entrepreneur…

But as an aspiring entrepreneur myself, I have often failed. Adam Horwitz, the 18-year-old internet guru, once said, “The hardest part about being an entrepreneur is that you’ll fail ten times for every success. So, I’ve failed at least 30 times… but, they were not failures to me.”

Adam went on to explain that those ‘failures’ were pivotal pit-stops on his ultimate road to big business success (he’s 18 and his latest product ‘Mobile Monopoly’ just earned $1.5 million during a three-day launch).

For Adam, when one of his online ventures went awry, that merely meant that he could rule out that road to success and start blazing a new trail.

The Hardest Part of Being in Love…

In your love life, the same principal applies. Maybe that guy or gal of your dreams isn’t giving you the time of day because they’re playing hard to get. Maybe not (tell-tale signs of ‘not’ include throwing a drink in your face and/or giving you a wedgie).

But you would never know for sure if you didn’t first try. Each rejection gets you one step closer to ‘the one’. The road to the right person (or the right business) is always going to be paved with rejection – just like Adam and his cornucopia of failed blogs.

So What’s the Trick?

The trick to never feeling rejection again isn’t just in realizing that you are never going to find the right route without wandering down a few dead ends, but in realizing that those dead ends are actually a crucial part of the journey to your ultimate success.

Next time you are met with rejection in business or in love, cross that road off of your map and move on. Have you ever looked at a map? There are a lot of roads.

Love Always,
Casanova Joe

P.S. That quote of Adam’s is from ‘What it Takes to Make More Money than Your Parents’ – a book of interviews with young entrepreneurs freshly compiled by the dynamic duo behind JuniorBiz. In it, Adam reveals how he makes $100,000’s as a teenager who still lives with his parents. You can grab a free chapter and watch Adam’s entire interview for free, right here.

Seek. Find. Hide. Pounce. Kick. Choke. Ninja star throw. Vanish.

All too often, ninjas and entrepreneurs describe their products or services by the features. I’m not going to hire a ninja to seek, pounce and vanish. I’m looking for the stealthiest of individuals to carry-out a mission without leaving a trace so they or I don’t get caught.

People pay for advantages and benefits, not features. When describing your product or service, you need to follow the FAB structure (Feature-Advantage-Benefit) if you want to portray the real value of what you provide.

Feature

What are the attributes of your product or service? What is it made of? What are the specifications and special functions of the product? What do you do?

For example, let’s say you run an internet marketing/web development company. The main features of your services are that you make websites, optimize them for search engines, integrate social media, and build in systems to capture contact information.

Advantage

How is your product or service better than your competitors? What makes it the best product or service on the market?

Continuing with the same example, you could inform potential customers that most web development companies stop at simply building the website and explain that just having a website is pointless. Your service is better because it has three other vital components.

Benefit

What is the core value that your product or service provides to your customers? What problem does it solve? How will your customer’s life improve as a result of paying you?

Back to your company, the benefit to your internet marketing service is that your customers will capture more sales leads and attract more customers as a result of your superior service.

FAB Product or Service Description

When the FAB model is used effectively it is a stealthy, yet powerful, sales move. Check out the before and after descriptions for your internet marketing company:

Features: “We make websites, optimize them for search engines, integrate social media and build in systems to capture contact information.”

Features-Advantages-Benefits: “We develop professional-looking websites, drive traffic through search engines and social media, and we’ll build systems to capture their information so they keep coming back. Most other web development companies stop at just building your website. We’ll integrate SEO, social media and conversion forms so you can capture more leads, attract more customers, and make more money.”

The small business owner doesn’t want a website.

They want to make more money. A website just happens to be a great way to do that. If you can show that your internet marketing service will result in more money for your customer than you charge them, it’s a no-brainer. They’ll hire you every single time.

When to Use FAB

All day, every day. The FAB technique should be plastered all over your fliers, posters, website, packaging, and strategically placed throughout your sales pitch. Any time you’re trying to convince someone to do something, you need to use it because people only respond to benefits (“What’s in it for me?”).

How We Used FAB on Our Book Cover

Feature: 50 Interviews: Young Entrepreneurs (Volume 1, Interviews 1-25)
Advantage: The world’s top young entrepreneurs share the secrets to their success.
Benefit: What it Takes to Make More Money than Your Parents

If a ninja wants to make a website that will attract more clients (rather than just being a really cool website), then that ninja needs to utilize the advantages and benefits of their services.

When Adam Horwitz was a 15-year-old high school sophomore growing up in the Pacific Palisades, a mean-spirited gossip blog caught fire with his classmates. Concerned parents soon stomped it out, but Adam’s newfound desire to find online success would prove much harder to extinguish.

He started Urban Stomp, a website where he posted music and the locations of parties in the area. The site made a profit by selling clothes through affiliate links. Adam proved too successful for his own good: Urban Stomp drove 800 people to one party. He had to shut it down after only a few weeks.

Adam has learned from his mistakes and now teaches people age 15 and older how to make money online. He practices what he preaches: his courses, ‘Mobile Monopoly’ and ‘Cell Phone Treasure’, have each earned over $100,000 and he has another one in the works, called ‘Dude I Hate My Job’. To get his blood flowing, Adam enjoys driving his newly-purchased 2010 Audi A5 and playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 on his Xbox 360.

The following is a short excerpt from 50 Interviews: Young Entrepreneurs (Volume 1).

Q: What challenges have you faced specifically because of your age? How has your age helped you to succeed?

A: People didn’t believe me at first. Even my friends were so stereotyped into thinking that you can’t do anything when you’re young – that you have to wait until you’re older and have a degree to actually become successful. So, whenever I would tell people, “I’m doing this,” they wouldn’t take it seriously. Now that I have my Audi A5, everyone’s jumping on the bandwagon.

Age also has its benefits. For instance, I use my age as a marketing advantage. I can target younger people. I’m 18 years old. I say, “If I’m 18 years old, you could be doing the same thing no matter how old you are.”

When you’re young, what do you have to lose? You’re still living at home. You don’t have 50 bills you have to cover. All you’ve got to do is cover your late night dinners and your pizzas and all that. If everything completely fails, you’re still at school. You’re still going to get your degree. So, it doesn’t matter as long as you have fun doing it, work your way up, and stay dedicated. There’s no real loss. Enjoy the way up.

I’m living at home still. I don’t have to pay for rent or anything, so I can just put it in the bank. That’s really a big benefit: building up equity. Stay at home as long as you possibly can, even if you’re making a lot of money. Don’t stay until you’re 30, though [laughs]. And if you’re 60, you’ve got to be out.

Q: What would you tell an up-and-coming entrepreneur?

A: Even if you fail the first time, who cares? What’s going to happen? You’re young. The worst thing that could happen to you is that you wake up and go to school the next day. So just keep at whatever you’re doing and I promise you you’ll hit it. It’s all about perseverance.

Entrepreneurs have this thing inside of them where they don’t necessarily give up very easily. But [a lot of] people have the mindset from the media that they could get rich overnight. It’s possible to do anything, but you have to keep working at it. If you give up, then what’s going to happen? You’re just going to sit there and wonder what would have happened a year down the road if you had kept doing it.

Maybe the idea you had will have been taken by another entrepreneur. I think it has been proven that whenever you have a really good idea, there are at least three or four people in the world that have the exact same idea at the exact same time as you. There are a lot of entrepreneurs out there. So, if you’re not going to do it, they’re going to do it.

Q: Anything else you would like to add?

A: Don’t listen to what other people say. If you’re a young entrepreneur and you’re trying to make it big online, don’t think that you can’t do it. With the internet the way it is now, you can do anything. Even if everyone is saying, “No – it will never happen. Everything online is a scam!” Honestly: just screw them. Check them out of your mind and go for it. That’s what I did and I’m doing well, I think.

As a 13-year-old, Alex Maroko was cut from his basketball team. At 15, after years of practicing training techniques, Alex became a freelance athletic trainer. As word of mouth spread, the clients rolled in.

After graduating high school, Alex moved from Michigan to Tampa Bay, FL, where he played Division II basketball at Eckerd College. That’s also where he decided to take his business to the next level.

In early 2009, Alex went from training clients in person to doing everything online. His first product, a video that teaches how to dribble a basketball better, earned $20,000 in the first week of its release. In the six months since, Alex has been developing more websites and products, along with an online coaching program.

Today, Alex is 21 and ‘The Truth About Quickness’, his basketball training business, is going stronger than ever. He’s also pursuing a Kinesiology degree part-time at Michigan State University.

The following is a short excerpt from 50 Interviews: Young Entrepreneurs (Volume 1).

Q: How have people around you reacted to your success?

A: My good, close friends laugh about it. They think it’s funny. They all call me ‘The Truth’ now, based on ‘The Truth about Quickness’. Everyone around me is really supportive and excited for me. But a lot of people don’t understand it.

My mom always asks me what she’s supposed to say when a friend of hers comes up and asks, “How is Alex making all of his money? How did he buy that car? What does he do online?” She just doesn’t know how to explain it. She’s a smart woman; don’t get me wrong.

I get recognized when I go out in public. It’s funny. People just come up to me and say, “Hey – you’re Alex Maroko, aren’t you?” I’m like, “Yes.” And they’re like, “You’re awesome.” I even had one kid who asked me to sign an autograph for him. I never thought that would actually happen. So, it’s cool.

Q: What key events transformed you from sports trainer to 6-figure internet entrepreneur?

A: There are three things that come to my mind, immediately. The first one was when I was 13 years old and I decided that I was going to be a college basketball player. I had just been cut from my eighth grade basketball team. I was an awful basketball player. So, looking back on it truthfully, that goal was completely ridiculous. But I’m glad I set it and I’m glad I believed in it because eventually it did come true.

I spent the next few years of my life basically learning, studying and applying all of these different training techniques to improve myself as an athlete. Without that goal, I would have never collected all of the training expertise that I now have and use on a daily basis.

When I went to play college basketball in Florida, there was a trainer about two blocks from my college who was starting to build an online business as a football trainer. I found him online, I literally walked down to his gym, introduced myself to him, and now we’re really good friends. He and another trainer pushed me to start my online business. They kept telling me, “Dude, you’ve got to do this. You’re going to kill it.” That was the second event.

It’s really unbelievable: looking back on this, I’m realizing that this stuff is connected. It’s kind of blowing my mind right now. But, the third event was when the other trainer who I met in Florida told me that Yanik Silver was giving away a scholarship to his Underground Online Seminar 5. He was 26, so he couldn’t apply, but he said: “You’re going to be perfect for this.” At that time, I didn’t even know who Yanik Silver was. So, I was very green in the internet marketing community, but I applied and two weeks later I made it as a scholarship winner.

I went to the event and it was really, really life-changing – all of the stuff I learned, all of the people I met. That was late February 2009 and two weeks later we launched our first product. We made $20,000 in a week. Since then, life has just been this awesome roller coaster that never seems to stop moving.

Q: Anything else you would like to add?

A: Thank you for the interview. I’ve had a lot of fun with this and I appreciate it.

Video: Alex dribbling and shooting a basketball. This is legit. You can tell it’s not being sped up because of the people in the background. Simply mezmerizing!

This is an abridged version from Alex’s interview in our latest project, 50 Interviews: Young Entrepreneurs. Alex is a great example of an entrepreneur who is providing a huge value to an insanely niche group of people, and he’s doing a great job of it. He’s a fun guy to talk to and I can tell he loves what he’s doing. That really comes across in this interview.

The last five days has been one of the most eye-opening experiences of my life with some of the most ambitious young people I’ve ever met.

I’ve learned more about how to sell things (anything from ebooks to jigsaw puzzles) on the internet in the last five days than the rest of my life. There were tons of famous internet people and a few lucky young entrepreneurs won scholarships to this event (including yours truly).

It was a blast and you will see plenty of changes to my site over the coming months. Here are some of the pictures with people I met:
