JuniorBiz Journey

Week 6 of the JuniorBiz Project Charter has come and gone. The highlight of the week was being featured on a radio show with the former mayor of Fort Collins, Ray Martinez. Trevor Trout, Traver Heckman and I also had the honor of being on the show on a very special day for Ray, his birthday!

I’ll go into more detail about the show in the 5th objective. During the rest of the week I was busy with the other 4 objectives of the project charter.

This week was spring break. My spring break was chock-full of JuniorBiz project charter duties. I talked to a lot of interesting people about my idea as well as made a lot of headway with publishing the guide. Finally selling something besides advertising space will be a momentous step for JuniorBiz.com.

All in all, Spring Break ’09 was pretty fun!

During week 4 of the JuniorBiz Project Charter I reached my first milestone. At 51 pages long the Official JuniorBiz Lawn Mowing Guide is written! I still need to do a fair amount of editing and formatting this week, but the bulk of the guide is complete.

This first objective was my focus this week but I was still actively engaged in the other 4 objectives.

On Wednesday, March 4th, I received some very exciting news! JuniorBiz was accepted to compete in the 2009 Colorado State University Venture Adventure Business Plan Competition. As far as I know there will be 16 teams competing for a top prize of $5000! The competition will take place on April 17th and 18th in the College of Business at CSU.

Needless to say, I would love to have people come and watch. If you’re interested, you should let me know and I can provide more information. The excitement aside, I still needed to move towards my objectives for the week.
